Post 16 Provision
Bensham Manor Post 16 department is a developing provision for 16 – 19 year olds. We are situated in the grounds of Bensham Manor School and can currently accommodate up to 16 students. We bridge the gap between school and further education and aim to develop confident and competent young people who can achieve their full potential within their local community. The centre provides a safe, calm and supportive adult environment for students to continue to develop their skills. Students have the opportunity to develop social skills whilst following academic and practical courses designed to meet their individual needs. We offer two courses, Life and Living Skills and Employability. The Life and Living Skills course includes units in Personal Skills, Communication, Numeracy, ICT, Arts and Crafts and Horticulture. The Employability course includes units on Health and Safety in the workplace, Communicating with others at work and Learning through work experience. There will be weekly opportunities to participate in a Work Experience placement and also to access a travel training programme. Finally, the students will be able to attend a course at Carshalton College to prepare them for their next step.
